Introduction

Biogas is the ultimate waste product of the bacteria feeding off the input biodegradable feedstock, and is mostly methane and carbon dioxide, with a small amount hydrogen and trace hydrogen sulfide. As-produced, biogas also contains water vapor, with the fractional water vapor volume a function of biogas temperature. Most of the biogas is produced during the middle of the digestion, after the bacterial population has grown, The gas is normally stored on top of the digester in an inflatable gas bubble or extracted and stored next to the facility in a gas holder.

If excess biogas are produced in biodegradable process and beyond gas holder’s capacity, excess biogas needed to be flared. Roots blower is used to transport excess biogas to the flare system,due to the corrosive and explosive property of biogas,roots blower must be specially treatment for the contact parts of biogas. Usually nickle and chrome alloy are plated on the surface of impeller and side boards of roots blower to meet harsh working environment.
